As we begin the final preparations for AIBTM here in Baltimore it's obvious to see how much a city like this benefits from big national and international conferences and exhibitions.
As AIBTM delegates arrive they follow hot on the heals of the US Conference of Mayors departure from Baltimore. This event had Mayors from all over the US, some 1200 attendees in total and according to local Baltimore newspaper, the Daily Record, is worth some $2 million dollars in economic impact.
Add that to AIBTM and the PCMA also in town, then another $3.5 million dollars worth of economic impact are predicted. All in all it's a huge week for Baltimore. As CEO Tom Noonan said “this is the best marketing opportunity we have ever had in the convention industry in Baltimore”.
